Principal donated 120,000 facemasks and hand sanitisers to flood victims
Principal® supports victims of flooding in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, 15 January 2021 – Principal® delivered support this week to those impacted by flooding in the states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang. Principal Financial Group®, Principal Asset Management, and Principal Islamic Asset Management joined forces to contribute 100,000 facemasks and 20,000 hand sanitisers to relief centres in Kuantan, Kemaman, Marang, Kuala Lipis, and Pengkalan Chepa.
Principal® partnered with the State Department of Social Welfare (JKM) in the respective states to coordinate and deliver these essential items, with the support of a local supplier, to the critical areas affected by the floods. The company took safety and health measures to ensure the transportation and distribution process adhered to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and State Welfare Departments.
Munirah Khairuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Principal Asset Management said, “I am deeply concerned by the magnitude of the floods and the tragedy that has befallen our fellow Malaysians. With both the flood and the pandemic, proper precautions must be taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 and protect the lives and safety of the flood victims. I am proud to see how our teams have stepped up to help our neighbors in their greatest time of need.”
